William Howard Taft and Anthony Kennedy:
This was my thesis project senior year at Ringling College of Art + Design. It consisted of 15 narrative portraits of current or notable historic Justices of the US Supreme Court and required research as well at creativity.

Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Elena Kagan:
Harlan F. Stone, John G. Roberts and Joseph Story:
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Samuel A. Alito and Sandra Day O'Connor
Sonia Sotomayor, Thurgood Marshall and Stephen G. Breyer:
William O. Douglas:
This project was dear to my heart and I believe it shows in the final images. Some of the historic justices were difficult due to a lack of available photos. Whereas I was able to search for interesting candid moments to work from for the current justices (Kagan and Scalia are two of my favorites) I had to accept what was available for the elder men and even worked from black and white photos and descriptions for several of them. The background for each justice presents details of their lives, something to represent their home state and two other features relevant to their views or important decisions they made.
