Watercolor, Digital

Sketches and doodles, mostly just me playing around.  When I just want to enjoy what I am doing I draw things like this. That is Powergirl in the center. :]

S.C.O.T.U.S. Finals

Watercolor

William Howard Taft and Anthony Kennedy:

This was my thesis project senior year at Ringling College of Art + Design.  It consisted of 15 narrative portraits of current or notable historic Justices of the US Supreme Court and required research as well at creativity.

Goblin Soldier

 zBrush/watercolor drawing

One of my goblin doodles realized in 3D via zBrush.  I really must contact the Goblin story's writer and see what he's been up to lately.  Maybe I should finish his page first...

PostapoCatlyptic

PostapoCatlyptic

The full post contains a massive sketchdump, all kinds of work that I have done for Postapocatlyptic.  Soon I will be into actual pages, but I gotta get a few things solid before I can really start.  The script is complete though so wish me luck!

Florals

Watercolor

My attempt at doing floral patterns for a hallmark portfolio...  I am not sure I had the temperament to work there anyway ;]

Alter Ego Project

Watercolor

Still sort of like the landscape sketch better than the final, isn't that just how it goes?

Chris' Daughter

Watercolor

Portrait from a cell-phone photo of a friend's daughter.  He's awesome, his daughter is a sweetie, and I am NEVER working from a cell-phone photo again. :]

BJ's Grandchildren

Watercolor

This was a tough pill to swallow.  The client provided me with some photos of his grandchildren and I tried really hard to sell him on the top sketch here.  It would have been beautiful. The two boys swimming in the sunlight, the ghost of their beloved dog (apparently the dog had died but they really loved it) protecting them in the distance... He wanted them seated looking at the camera with things they like in the background.  Things like Pancakes... And he didn't have photos of them looking at the camera with even remotely similar lighting... it was frustrating.  I still love that thumbnail though.

Fashion Illustration

Graphite Drawing w/ Digital Color

I. Still. Love. This. Concept.
And I still hate the final that I ended up with, fashion can be avant garde, it does not have to be clean or tame.  They can have nipples in their magazines and they can have some very dark advertisements.  I stand by these statements and I stand by my original concept.

Federal Reserve Chairs

I still love this piece as well, Bernanke standing in Greenspan's shadow.  Not one of my classmates recognized these men... but I do not blame the likenesses.
